PSAT/NMSQT Reading & Writing Preparation

The current Reading and Writing section contains 54 questions across two 32-minute modules. Questions cover four broad domains: Craft and Structure, Information and Ideas, Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas across literature, history/social studies, humanities, and science.

Craft & Structure

Vocabulary in context, meaning of words and phrases, text structure, purpose, connections between texts, analysis, synthesis, and reasoning.

Information & Ideas

Central ideas, supporting details, evidence, inference, interpretation, tables, bar graphs, line graphs, and integrating information.

Standard English Conventions

Sentence structure, sentence boundaries, grammar, usage, punctuation (commas, colons, semicolons), and editing.

Expression of Ideas

Logical organization, transitions, sentence revision, effective wording, rhetorical purpose, clarity, and cohesion.

Reading Strategies & Vocabulary

Strategy: Read → Identify → Analyse → Eliminate → Verify. Practice context clues, high-utility academic words, connotation, and precise word choice based on evidence.

PSAT/NMSQT Math & Digital Adaptive Preparation

The current Math section contains 44 questions across two 35-minute modules across four content domains: Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry.

Algebra & Advanced Math

Linear equations, linear inequalities, systems of equations, equivalent expressions, word problems, nonlinear equations, functions, quadratic relationships, and algebraic reasoning.

Problem-Solving, Data Analysis, Geometry & Trigonometry

Ratios, rates, percentages, proportions, tables, graphs, data interpretation, statistics, real-world applications, lines & angles, triangles, right-triangle trigonometry, circles, area, perimeter, volume, and coordinate geometry.

Digital PSAT/NMSQT & Adaptive Testing Strategy

Delivered digitally through Bluebook. Uses a 2-stage multistage adaptive testing strategy. Early accuracy in Module 1 determines entry into the higher-difficulty Module 2. Practice focuses on precision, digital calculator usage, reference info, and module time management.

Mathematical Reasoning & National Merit Pathway

Mathematical Reasoning Framework: Understand → Represent → Solve → Check. Translate words into equations, select efficient methods, compare approaches, and verify answers.

National Merit Scholarship Program Awareness

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) uses a Selection Index based on PSAT/NMSQT Reading & Writing and Math scores to screen students for scholarships. Practice includes high-accuracy timed modules, Selection Index awareness, error reduction, and mock score analysis.

Score & Performance Analysis

Detailed performance breakdown across all 8 sub-domains: Craft & Structure, Information & Ideas, Standard English Conventions, Expression of Ideas, Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving/Data Analysis, Geometry/Trigonometry.

Live Interactive Classes & Personalized Learning

During live online lessons, students ask questions, analyse passages, discuss answer choices, practice grammar, solve math problems, explain reasoning, attempt challenging questions, complete timed challenges, and review mistakes.

Personalized PSAT/NMSQT Learning

Mentors customize reading difficulty, grammar revision, vocabulary practice, algebra, advanced math, data analysis, geometry, question difficulty, timed practice, mock-test frequency, and revision schedule according to individual student goals.
